Where to Sign
Louisiana car titles must be notarized. Be sure to write clearly and sign/print your name exactly as spelled on the front of your title. Avoid white-out, scribbles, and strike-throughs.
- Wait to sign until you are before a Notary.
- Back of the title top right - sign name(s) on the line where it reads "Signature(s) of Seller(s)." Make sure title is signed legibly, exactly how your name is printed on the front.
- Back of the title right below where you signed name(s) - print name(s) on the line where it reads "Printed Name(s) of Seller(s)."
Multiple Owners
All owners listed on the front of title must sign the title. Make sure to sign before a notary.
Lien or Bank Name on Title
If your Louisiana title shows a lien or a bank name printed on the front, then your title will need to be signed off by the lien holder or have a separate lien release letter.
